'Long Story Short' is a collection of songs that combine life lessons of love and family with the wry wit of hindsight from a duo that has been round the block a time or two.

Produced by Matt Searles (Marenghi Beat, Solar Array), 'Long Story Short' has the vibrance of a live performance, garnished slyly with additional instrumentation - including guest strings by Jenny Newton - to deliver a set of songs you can really get your teeth into and walk away singing.

'Long Story Short' is an introduction to The Long Shorts - Long on friendship, short on time, and out to lift your spirits.

About The Long Shorts

Acoustic duo The Long Shorts are Chris and Dan who have been writing and playing music together for more years than they would care to admit! Playing in several bands with Rock, Pop, and Indie influences over the years, both Chris and Dan take inspiration whenever it strikes, filling some songs with a first-person intimacy, and others with a broader world view. Stories of friends, family and optimism in a pessimistic world.

More recently, Chris and Dan have regrouped as a duo with a set of songs penned with a (slightly) more mature perspective and are excited for the chance to bring their current stripped back acoustic Rock/Pop set up to new venues and new audiences.

Gigs

The Long Shorts have enjoyed a whole host of live performances over the last couple of years including showcases, house concerts and gigs at The Railway Inn, Winchester, Three Hounds Beer Company, Beckenham, Ignition Brewery, Sydenham, The Dusty Barrel, Hythe, The Place at The Savoy Theatre, The Dublin Castle, The Fiddler's Elbow, and Temple of Arts & Music in London.

They've supported Luke Concannon, James Yorkston, Nigel Wearne, Milton Hide, The Gillies and Paul McClure, and played on bills alongside The Picton Readers Club, One Offs, Emma & The Fragments, Larry_73, The Ben Poore Project, Marenghi Beat, Simon Maggs/People Like Us, James Hodder, Ian Roland, Rob Clamp, Laurence Henderson, Simeon Hammond Dallas and Matt Creer.
